Special Section on the Conference Contributions from June 2023 One of the highlights of this upcoming issue is a special section dedicated to showcasing contributions from the conference participants of “The Käte Hamburger Kolleg IKGF: Insights and Outlooks,” held from 12th to 14th June 2023 in Erlangen. Delve into retrospective reflections and forward-looking perspectives from esteemed scholars and affiliates of the conference, providing invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of critical divination studies.

Academic Articles by Lisa Raphals and Richard Smith Prepare to be immersed in scholarly discourse with two academic articles authored by prominent scholars in the field. Lisa Raphals offers insights into “Early Chinese and Greek Accounts of Chance and Randomness,” illuminating parallels and divergences between ancient thought systems. Meanwhile, Richard Smith presents “Magic Matters: Literature Review Essay on Medicine and Divination in Honor of Nathan Sivin,” navigating the intricate intersections between medicine and divination with scholarly finesse.

Book Reviews by Lex Jing Lu and Michael Lackner In addition to scholarly articles, this issue features two insightful book reviews.
