蕭顗芸 Xiao Yiyun. “臺灣命理師的符咒運用 : 以新北市兩德命理館為例 [The Use of Talismans by Fortune-Tellers in Taiwan: A Case Study of the Liang-de Fortune-Telling Center in New Taipei City].” PhD Diss., 輔仁大學 Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU), 2025.
This dissertation explores the intersection of traditional Chinese divination and Taoist talisman practices in modern Taiwanese fortune-telling. Focusing on the Liang-de Fortune-Telling Center in New Taipei City, the study examines how practitioners integrate numerology, medicine, destiny analysis, divination, and physiognomy with talismanic rituals to provide holistic solutions for clients. Through interviews and case studies, the research investigates the structure, symbolism, and application of talismans, their perceived effectiveness, and public acceptance. It also highlights how Liang-de Hall adapts to societal changes by blending shushu (numerology/divination) with Taoist talisman traditions – a unique approach that sets it apart from conventional fortune-tellers. This work offers valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Taiwanese esoteric practices and their role in contemporary spiritual guidance.
