We are pleased to announce an upcoming Book Talk featuring the recent publication Global Yijing: Intercultural Encounters with World Religions and Thoughts, edited by John Lai of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The event will take place on February 19, 2026, at 13:00 CET.
This volume, published as part of the Chinese Culture Series by Springer, offers a wide-ranging examination of the global reception and reinterpretation of the Yijing. Bringing together cross-cultural and comparative perspectives, the book explores how the Yijing has engaged with major world religions and intellectual traditions over the past centuries, illuminating its dynamic role in intercultural exchanges and global thought. The discussion will be enriched by Prof. Dennis Cheng and Prof. Tze-ki Hon.
This event invites scholars and students interested in Chinese intellectual history, comparative religion, global intellectual exchanges, and intercultural philosophy to reflect on the Yijing‘s evolving significance beyond its classical Chinese context.
